                        he wants to say that sam’s being stupid —
                        he’s  an  archangel,  he doesn’t  s l e e p ——
                        but sam’s probably just trying to simplify the
                        situation for the archangel’s sake ; which is
                        kind of equally stupid,  because he’s dying,
                        not an idiot. he doesn’t see castiel around,
                        so there’s not much more that can be done,
                        & it’s really weird, but somehow gabriel’s a
                        lot more comfortable with dying this time,
                        because he knows the face above him, and
                        knows that it’s lucifer from HOME, from
                        before, not the lucifer who’d killed him last
                        time. this lucifer is safe. he knows this lucifer.

                                                   as a harsh burn begins to  B L O S S O M
                                  in     the     pit     of     his     stomach,     he     wonders     briefly
                                                    if             he’s             just             dreaming.

                                                         but he’d have to be ASLEEP to do that.
